... once again. Tickets for Saturday night Mann Music Center. Forecast for 100 degrees. Just like last year.
Also it worries me for Bob and Phil, health-wise. Should they really be doing this? We're considering just not going. It's supposed to be FUN not some kind of punishment. *$!*@&&^?%#@!*

Heat wave in Seattle...80 degrees expected. Everybody is making a run on air conditioners. Seriously.

I'll be in CT in a week...hope the temps drop a bit by then.

people around here are heat wimps...and after being here for over 20 years my blood has thickened up and 80 feels hot...but no a/c for me just yet. But look out if you are at Home Depot and there is only one unit left.

My wife has been in Chicago for the last week and she said it was like being in India...except not quite as stinky - India that is. She just arrived in NYC today - so it continues.

Yes it sounds like Chicago was pretty awful. New York not much better.

Ring, I would assume that the band's space is cooler then that of the great unwashed. Assume.

Maybe you can both slurp two humungo slurpees in five minutes and use the intense brain freeze to carry you through.

Dunno ... forecast for Saturday keeps going UP. First it was 100 degrees - now it says 103 degrees! Maybe we'll just go to the movies ... love ya Bob and Phil.

I hope AEG gets their act together and lets people get in quicker instead of the doing the excessive searches they did last year. I was at the gate an hour before the show, but still missed the first 4 songs.

Nope, not going either. I might hit Merriweather if the mood strikes me.

Merriweather is the venue. Gr8 place.

ringo-
I may suggest that you skip the whole thing, travel down
the street to lower-Camden NJ and get some of the best crack cocaine ever cooked up. Talk about your sweaty unpleasantness.
I may suggest, but I wont. I hope you go, and I hope you
have a grateful time :)

sry to hear about the power outage DR71. But Ive used up
my phrase 'sweaty unpleasantness' quota for the day.
Dang. I did it again. hang in there. peace

Merriweather might be getting hit with some violent thunderstorms for the Sunday show. It's deja vu all over again.

Actually it came back on last night at 8. It went out Friday night. It caused me to postpone starting my new job for a week.

I never knew what a Derecho was until we got hit by one.

It's 100 in Philly. We're leaving for the show in a few minutes ... we're tentatively planning to just stay for a few songs. I mean, we paid for the damn tickets, but we're too old for this sort of thing.

The email from the Mann sort of vaguely promises that things will be better organized than last year ... we'll see. You're allowed to bring in 20 oz. of bottled water per person, then they want you to pay their concession prices of course. I'll write more later tonight after the ordeal is over and I'm home collapsed in my air-conditioned chamber.

I hope you have a great time and hear all the songs you want to. Remember the 3 slushies in a row for show length brain freeze and overall cool down factor.

If you want to get your Dead fix that night, but want to do it inside away from the heat, Renowned GD cover band Splintered Sunlight is doing a Furthur after-party show that same night at 11pm.
